2022 Greetings
Greetings for 2022 are being prepared.
Hello, I'm Kim Sungeun.
We would like to launch the "Global Leaders Forum," which has been hesitating despite the many encouragements around us, within this year. Therefore, we would like to invite our acquaintances who have generously sent their interest and support so far to share their opinions on the purpose and direction of the forum. I know you are busy, but thank you for taking the time.
The global market is becoming one with the information and communication revolution and globalization. Rising competition and uncertainty make it very difficult for anyone to navigate. However, I believe that the funds filled with chaos and chaos are the golden opportunity for Korea to leap forward as the backbone of the international community. It's time to clarify the national agenda and its priorities and focus our capabilities. The Republic of Korea must actively participate and change in order to improve the national interest and the happiness of the people, while at the same time promoting the sustainable development of the world economy to improve the quality of life of mankind.
For the past 60 years, Korea has built a solid manufacturing base through government-led industrial policies, and has grown into one of the world's seven largest trading powers. The combination of the improvement of the economic level and the enthusiasm for education has increased the college entrance rate to 80%, and highly educated manpower is being produced. However, social dissatisfaction is growing as jobs suitable for them are not smoothly supplied. The high youth unemployment rate is not unique to us, but as a divided country, it is very worrying that the people's anxiety and dissatisfaction are turning into anger. A social safety net that can embrace the weak and help them recover should be established quickly, and a national system should be established in which the weak can also be given opportunities for achievement and growth.
Although building a welfare society is the ultimate goal of the state, I think it is very important to develop into an advanced society that can reasonably draw conclusions through sufficient social consultation and adjustment regarding the scale, application target, and speed of introduction of welfare. In order to build a welfare society where the poor are happy, the rich must also be happy. Therefore, while developing into a welfare state, we must not neglect our efforts to achieve sustainable growth in the global market and to secure leadership in the international community.
The "Global Leaders Forum" is based on the belief that a true welfare society can be realized only if the dream and hope that Korea can become the center of the world come to life. For this, the following five conditions must be matured.
First, the national system must be adjusted to the level of advanced countries.
Second, the established national system must operate transparently.
Third, it should be possible to significantly improve the National Transparency Index, which is staying in the lower ranks.
Fourth, in order to enhance the image of the Republic of Korea in the international community, the public's point of view must be directed toward the world.
Fifth, we must actively expand our participation in the international community.
In other words, the national system built at the level of advanced countries should be applied fairly and transparently to all citizens to build trust among national members, and the people should have a global perspective and actively work in the international community.
In the future, the Global Leaders Forum" invites leaders respected by governments, international organizations, industry, academia, and NGOs to discuss policy alternatives and development plans to become a trusted country at home and abroad. In addition, in order to build a welfare state, We want to serve as a bridgehead to spread the national consensus that growth is necessary, and I look forward to your active support and participation so that hope can be revived to all classes in Korea and our hope can be spread around the world.
